Tech Tips (by ALLDATA): Dodge Charger won’t start?
TECH TIPS (courtesy of ALLDATA)
Vehicle: 2008 Dodge Charger, V6-2.7L, Automatic Transmission
Mileage: 165,778
Problem: The vehicle was towed in for a no-crank condition.
Details: The Technician verified the vehicle has a remote auto-start feature and will not crank. The battery was dead and failed the load test, so he replaced the battery. He connected a scan tool and pulled two DTCs: P2067 – Fuel Level Sensor 2 Circuit Low and U1197 – Security Seed Response Not Received From ECM/PCM. The Technician inspected the fuse and relays and found the RUN/START relay, located in the IPM underneath the hood, was extremely hot.
Confirmed Repair: He swapped the RUN/START relay with another and the starter engaged. After replacing the relay, the engine started and ran normally. The DTCs were cleared and did not return. Problem solved!
