Alert: Ford Fusion Energi plug-in hybrid sedans recalled over high-voltage shock risk
Roughly 2,100 2019 Ford Fusion Energi plug-in hybrid sedans are being recalled due to a lack of enhanced high-voltage access protection.
The condition could allow contact with an uncovered high-voltage fuse through a small gap behind the access panel, increasing the risk of injury.
According to Ford, there haven’t been any reports of accidents or injuries.
To fix the condition, dealers will install a cover over the high-voltage battery electrical center – at no cost.
Concerned owners can call Ford at (866) 436-7332, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s vehicle-safety hotline at (888) 327-4236. They can also visit to check their vehicle identification number.
