Congressmen Ride in Driverless Car

U.S. House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee Chairman Bill Shuster (R-Pa.) invited fellow members of Congress to take a ride in Carnegie Mellon University’s (CMU) driverless car. In a press conference earlier that day, Shuster said, “We have to encourage our state partners to utilize new technologies, and along with the states, we must begin planning for the benefits and challenges that new technologies will bring to our transportation system.”
The Automotive Service Association will continue to monitor the committee’s activities, including any legislation pertaining to vehicle safety and emerging technologies.
