New ‘member benefit’ from ASA
To provide better membership value, ASA is hosting a series of webinars on the third Wednesday of each month. The first ones, January-May, were jointly sponsored by Bosch. The live version of the webinar series is free, but the recorded version is available to members only.
Who should attend? All current ASA members and member prospects.
When will they be held? Mark your calendar for noon Central on the third Wednesday of every month. Webinars in August and November fall on the fourth Wednesday.
What are some of the planned topics? We will cover a variety of business-management and technical topics, as well as information to drive the success of your business. Here are the webinar topics for July-August:
July 18, noon-1 p.m. Central Time: Join Robert L. Redding Jr., ASA Washington, D.C., representative as he gives a full overview of the legislative slate to date and, more importantly, what it means for facilities and repairers.
During this interactive session, attendees will learn more about key issues on the mechanical and collision sides, including topics such as motor vehicle inspections, shop licensing, vehicle data access and more.
Aug. 22, noon-1 p.m. Central Time: Join Brian Farrington, ASA’s Wage & Hour attorney and expert, as he addresses the federal overtime law’s costly impact on shops that are not in compliance. When and under what conditions can you use the commission exemption to avoid paying overtime? What are your record-keeping obligations and what constitutes compensable hours of work? What’s the status of the exemption for managers? Join Brian as he addresses all of these pressing questions in this interactive sessio
