Friday General Session Offers Interesting Twist on Lean Processing
The discussion of lean processing took on a creative twist during Friday morning’s general session at the International Autobody Congress and Exposition (NACE). The session, which was sponsored by Akzo Nobel, featured a skit titled “Ray’s Bar,” reminiscent of the old “Cheers” show.

Walk a mile in their shoes! NACE attendees are fortunate to have exhibitors on the show floor this year with massage chairs, gel shoe insoles, and first aid kits for those inevitable blisters from all of the walking NACE brings.

NACE attendees can see a variety of different spray booths scattered around the exhibitor floor. Ranging from different styles to different price ranges, there’s something for everyone.

Hands on demonstrations were very popular during Friday’s Exhibitor Showcase. Attendees were able to use new, innovative products before purchasing to make sure the technology was a match for his or her shop.

On behalf of the Automotive Service Association (ASA), I’d like to welcome to the 2007 International Autobody Congress and Exposition (NACE).  We expect more than 30,000 industry professionals from around the globe to take part in this year’s event, proving that NACE continues to strengthen the collision repair industry, both at home and abroad.

NACE 2007 is the event designed to bring the entire collision repair industry to you - the collision repair professional. From state-of-the-art equipment to innovative paint technologies to the latest technological advances in collision repair, the NACE exposition is proving to be a success. And let’s not forget about the addition of the Auto Glass Expo @ NACE. Collision repair professionals are afforded a great opportunity to meet with and learn from the auto glass industry’s most knowledgeable experts.

Once again, NACE delivers unlimited opportunities to network, and to learn about and explore the issues affecting your segment of the industry. Keeping you and your staff current and up-to-date on the latest technologies and products is an ongoing goal of NACE.

This morning’s three free Early Bird Roundtables expanded on that goal, allowing collision repair professionals to discuss topics such as electronic transfer of data and rekeying, trends within the industry and women in the collision repair industry. And if you were among those who visited with the various exhibitors today during the Expo, you probably witnessed NACE's commitment to that goal as well. We’re proud that we can offer these opportunities to attendees from around the world

I also noticed an abundance of people in the New Products Pavilion today. Our NACE attendees have told us for many years they expect to see new products at the show. The New Products Pavilion meets those expectations, allowing participating exhibitors to showcase the newest products about to hit the collision repair market. Make sure you vote on the best new product of the year in the New Products Pavilion.

Be sure to check the Online Daily News for continuous, up-to-the-minute coverage of NACE 2007. Our staff is committed to keeping you informed of the latest events at this year's show.

Sincerely,

Ron Pyle
ASA President and Chief Staff Executive
