The NACE Exhibitor Show floor opened Thursday with a bang, offering attendees overwhelming opportunities for networking, purchasing and demonstrations. Many exhibitors have on-site demonstrations as a way to draw attendees to their booths.

Liz Calendar, contemporary Christian recording artist and office manager of Texas Body Works in Carrollton, Texas, sang the National Anthem at the opening general session of NACE 2007.

As chairman of this year's NACE, the collision industry's No. 1 event, I would like to personally welcome you to 2007 International Autobody Congress and Exposition (NACE) 2007. And on behalf of the Automotive Service Association (ASA), the sponsor of NACE, I'd also like to welcome you to Day Two of the NACE Online Daily News. The Online Daily News, published by AutoInc. magazine and ASA, is the official online news source for this year's event.

After a day filled with classes and panels, we wound down yesterday with the NACE Opening Reception. Mixing and mingling with friends, colleagues and industry representatives was the perfect way to end what turned out to be a very busy day for everyone.

This morning, I had the honor of opening NACE 2007 with the General Session that included the keynote address from Chris Gardner, the author of The Pursuit of Happyness. Gardner, whose story also came to the big screen in a movie of the same title, shared his experiences in overcoming incredible obstacles to realize his goals. His message spoke of self-empowerment, beating the odds, taking control of one’s life and the power that positive role models can have on a person.

The doors of the exposition opened at 10 a.m., immediately following the General Session. With over 2,000 booths and more than 500 exhibiting companies offering a full range of new products, equipment and technologies, this year's Exposition will be informational, valuable and exciting. And if your business repairs or replaces glass, I invite you to visit the Auto Glass Expo. The auto glass industry’s most knowledgeable experts are here at NACE again to exhibit their products and services right on the show floor.

As chairman of this year’s event, I truly look forward to the next few days which promise to offer something for everybody in the collision repair industry. And on behalf of the staff of the NACE Online Daily News, I invite you to read the most up-to-date coverage you will find online of NACE 2007.

Again, welcome to NACE 2007.

Sincerely,

Darrell Amberson, AAM
NACE 2007 Chairman
