ASRW 2009 PRESHOW EDITION
OEM Pavilion Brings Together Automakers, Attendees

Participating Automakers
Volkswagen, Volvo, Toyota, Porsche, Honda, GM, Ford, Chrysler
For the first time ever, a collection of automakers will participate in a pavilion setting at Automotive Service and Repair Week (ASRW), allowing attendees to visit with many of the top original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) in one area, at one time, under one roof.

More participants are expected by show time, but the current list includes Chrysler, Ford, General Motors, Honda, Porsche, Toyota, Volvo and VW. The upcoming International Autobody Congress & Exposition (NACE) and the Congress of Automotive Repair & Service (CARS) are the setting for this new ASRW feature, held at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center in Las Vegas Nov. 4-7.

“Auto manufacturers understand and appreciate the value and opportunity NACE and CARS provide, as shown by their attendance year after year,” says Chris Caris, administrator of the OEM Collision Repair Roundtable for PCGCampbell. “Although this past year has been a tough one industry-wide, the OEMs want to be there. It’s their best chance to meet with their loyal customers and talk about ways to improve the collision and mechanical repair processes, along with other issues that are important to both them and the industry as a whole.” Caris is working with Hanley Wood Exhibitions on the OEM Pavilion project.

Each OEM will have qualified company representation in their booths available to talk about parts and repair details, as well as their newest products and technologies with expo attendees.

“A solid showing by the OEMs is both exciting and encouraging as we move forward as an industry,” says Ron Pyle, ASA president and chief staff executive. “Some of them have overcome major challenges this year and we appreciate them recognizing the value their presence will have to our attendees.”

Another First for ASRW
It’s a known fact that many of our established exhibitors have repair equipment specifically designed for the heavy-duty segment of the automotive service and repair industry, and our new Heavy-Duty Pavilion gives them a chance to show it off.

Is your shop considering adding heavy-duty repairs to its portfolio of services? Are you aware of what steps to take to begin servicing and repairing these vehicles? Visit the Heavy-Duty Pavilion learn more about this lucrative business. Products will be displayed and expert guidance will be available from Randy Johansson, a body shop professional that does it all — auto body and mechanical repairs for both passenger vehicles and heavy-duty trucks.

“They share our roads. They also need repairs and service, so … why not be the one they call?” says Johansson.

New Product Pavilion
All the newest products just hitting the marketplace will be showcased in the ASRW New Product Pavilion. These products are designed to increase your efficiency, productivity and profitability. Afterward, visit the participating exhibitors in their booths for more details about their products’ benefits, functionalities and pricing.
