ASRW 2009 PRESHOW EDITION
Eight GREAT Reasons Why You Don’t Want to Miss ASRW

By Leona Dalavai Scott, AutoInc. editor

In just a few short weeks, the second annual Automotive Service and Repair Week (ASRW) will be upon us. If you’re planning to attend, kudos to you for making a great business decision to stay on top of your industry! For those who haven’t made their decisions yet, here are some terrific reasons why you should be in Las Vegas Nov. 4-7, 2009 should you need some arm-twisting:

8.

CARS and NACE are under one roof. The second annual ASRW brings the two best shows for the mechanical and collision industries together under one roof at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center. If you work in one industry and you want to explore the other, ASRW makes it easy to build your knowledge. Take advantage of the great individual package options that are available.

7.

There are two new tracks on the collision side. Heavy-duty trucks and “lean” management have been added to this year’s already stellar lineup. Once again, ASA is broadening your collision repair horizon with content that is relevant and timely.

6.

CARS technical classes have expanded to a three-hour format so that instructors can cover more detailed, technical information without being time-crunched. Additional timeslots were added to the Thursday, Friday and Saturday overall schedules to provide more choices to fit individual agendas.

5.

ASRW will be held at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center, which is attached to one of the most beautiful and exciting hotels on the Las Vegas strip. From 23 dining options that run the gamut from Starbucks to haute cuisine, not to mention a great shopping mall, exciting nightlife, fantastic shows (“The Lion King” is playing) and a shark reef, what’s there not to love about the Mandalay Bay? Not enough options for you? Then mosey on over to the impressive MGM Grand, Excalibur, Luxor, and/or New York-New York hotels, which are within walking distance.

4.

There’s lot of FREE stuff being offered! Get ready for your ASE exam by taking the ASE test prep classes, participate in the Auto Glass Technician and Windshield Repair Olympics, visit the show floor educational programs and don’t miss the CARS Exhibitor Theaters — all free!

3.

For the first time, ASRW will be featuring the OEM Pavilion where attendees will have a unique opportunity to visit with many of the top automobile manufacturers, and OEMs will have the unique opportunity to show their support of the collision and mechanical repair and service industry. Attendees will be able to hear about new products and technologies being planned by OEMs and can discuss accessibility of parts and repair information with qualified company representatives. To date, participants include Chrysler, Ford, GM, Honda, Porsche, Toyota, Volvo and Volkswagen.

2.

You know about all of the great classes offered this year, but did you know that some “superstar” instructors are on hand to teach them? In many cases, these teaching pros have been in your shoes and know the challenges you face in today’s automotive service and repair world. Learn from their knowledge, experience and “tried and tested” ways to give your business the “oophmh” that it needs to survive and thrive in some tough times.

1.

You’re in good company. For four days in November, you are in the company of other automotive service and collision repair professionals like yourself exchanging ideas, being inspired, collecting information and gearing up for another year of doing business in a profession that has undergone great changes but offers great promise as well.

Please join us at ASRW, and stop by booth #N8601
to say hello to the Automotive Service Association staff!
