2012 Economic Census Responses Past Due?
The 2012 Economic Census, the U.S. Government’s official five-year measure of American business and the economy, is currently underway. Many ASA members and AutoInc. readers were likely asked to participate. The industry benefits from this effort because reliable statistics are needed for economic development, decision-making and strategic planning. For those businesses that have responded to the Economic Census, the bureau says, “Thanks!” For those businesses that were mailed a form but have not yet responded to this mandatory survey, the bureau urges you to do so as soon as possible.
Your response makes a difference! Report online at: econhelp.gov
TopTechFinder Expands Job Board
ASA associate member TopTech Finder recently launched an improved and expanded job board, which connects employers with job seekers in the collision repair industry.
“At NACE in New Orleans, shops said they wanted help finding all kinds of employees, not just PDR techs. We are expanding to better meet the needs of the industry,” said Jeff Herman, CEO of TopTech Finder. The site has connected more than 1,200 collision repair workers and over 350 repairers since it launched in early 2012.
“Employers have a hard time finding qualified technicians on general job boards. They aren’t designed for the collision repair industry and don’t draw many technicians. In contrast, TopTech Finder allows candidates to show off industry-specific qualifications [such as I-CAR and ASE certifications], making the job board a natural place for techs to find jobs,” said Herman. “From estimators to collision technicians – entry-level to experienced – all collision repair jobs can be found on the site.”
