Ford Returns to ASRW
ASA and Automotive Service and Repair Week (ASRW) are excited to announce Ford Motor Co. will be exhibiting at the 2013 event. ASRW will take place Thursday and Friday, Oct. 17-18, with education beginning Wednesday, Oct. 16, at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center in Las Vegas.
“Every year, ASRW attendees express a great desire to interact and engage with the OEMs to discuss access to repair information, parts information and new vehicle technologies,” said Dan Risley, ASA executive director. “As the first of the OEMs we’re in discussion with to formally commit to ASRW, we are appreciative of Ford’s participation in this year’s event.”
Ford will be exhibiting on the ASRW show floor in an all-new area. Additional details and participants will be announced soon.
“Ford has had a longstanding, positive business relationship with ASA and its members, and we are pleased to continue our support of ASA at one of the industry’s most important trade shows,” said George Gilbert, crash parts merchandising manager, Ford Customer Service Division. Airbag Solutions Donates Database Subscriptions to Schools
Airbag Solutions – an ASA member benefit provider – has announced that 60 secondary and post-secondary collision repair school programs have received access to the AirbagSolutions.com SRS service database to support training of the next generation of automotive technicians. Offered in conjunction with the Collision Repair Education Foundation (CREF), the gift subscriptions will arm the automotive trainers and faculty members with OEM airbag service requirements information for more than 5,000 vehicles enabling students to have a single point of contact for their airbag service information.
“We are committed to supporting the efforts of training facilities around the country,” said Ruth Weniger, CEO of Airbag Solutions. “By partnering with CREF, we know that instructors will have the critical SRS information they need to get these students on the right track to doing high-quality, OEM-compliant repairs.”
The Airbag Solutions database provides OEM requirements for service of SRS systems following an accident.
Mister Collision Celebrates 24 Years
The Farmers Branch (Texas) Chamber of Commerce recently held a ribbon-cutting ceremony for Mister Collision, a Chamber member celebrating 24 years in the auto body/repair industry. Owners Nancy and Aldo Amirgholi (that’s Nancy wielding the scissors and to the right of her is Aldo) hosted a luncheon buffet, gift basket drawing and mini-tour in a festive, musical atmosphere. About 100 people attended the event, including dignitaries from Dallas, of which Farmers Branch is a suburb. Mister Collision is a longtime member of the Automotive Service Association and was featured in a shop profile in the July 1996 issue of AutoInc.
