More Highlights from ASRW

Posted 10/17/2012

Before you leave for New Orleans, get the latest updates!

It’s not too late to head to New Orleans and register on-site for this year’s Congress of Automotive Repair and Service (CARS) and the International Autobody Congress and Exposition (NACE) to be held Oct. 10-13, 2012 at the Morial Convention Center.

For more details, go to www.ASRWevents.com. We hope to see you there!

Industry Forum Topics

ASRW will be featuring relevant industry topics during the Industry Forum. The ASRW Industry Forum is scheduled for Friday, Oct. 12, from 8:30-10:15 a.m. and will again feature collision- and mechanical-specific sessions.

Tickets for the forum are included in the purchase of a Super Pass or may be purchased individually during online registration or on-site for $50. Attendees may select the forum sessions of their choice.

The Mechanical sessions are: What Else Is in the Box? More Than Just a Part! and Paving the Road to Success: The Next Generation. The Collision sessions are: Insurance Panel and Parts Supplier Panel.

The ASRW Industry Forum was created in 2010 as a professional platform for interactive discussion of the industry’s hottest, most current topics.

Sponsors for the event include the National Auto Body Council (NABC), the Collision Repair Education Foundation (CREF), Women’s Industry Network (WIN), National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) and the Automotive Management Institute (AMI). All proceeds from the forum benefit the training and education initiatives of these organizations.

Auto Body Repairers Assembly Set Oct. 10

ASRW is launching a new special event in New Orleans – the Auto Body Repairers Assembly. The Auto Body Repairers Assembly is limited strictly to qualified collision repairers and will take place Wednesday, Oct. 10, from 4:45-6:45 p.m. at the Morial Convention Center. Admission is complimentary for repair professionals and registration is available online for the event.

The urgent need for collision repairers to have a forum to openly discuss their issues among peers was brought to the attention of ASRW organizers by repair community leaders across the industry. In response, “The Auto Body Repairers Assembly” was created as an inaugural event and hosted as a natural extension of the activities that take place during ASRW – “the repairers show.” Depending on repairer response and interest, future events will be scheduled, and The Assembly will become an ongoing venue for repairers to ensure their voice is heard.

“Like other organizations, repairers need their place to openly discuss issues important to them without filters and having to be politically correct,” said Scott Biggs, Assured Performance Network CEO.

The “repairer only” aspects are a central theme and driving force for this event and the vision for future events. To gain entry to the meeting, attendees must be verified collision repair professionals: a shop owner, member of management, employee or official representative of a repair business. No exceptions will be allowed, and no one else will be permitted to attend the meeting (including other ASRW attendees, exhibitors and press). Prior registration, official credential requirements and security have been added to ensure compliance.

Steps will be taken to ensure The Assembly is in compliance with all Anti-Trust Guidelines.

ASRW to Honor Award Winners

A new celebration to honor the outstanding work of the industry’s finest will take place during the ASRW Industry Awards Friday, Oct. 12, from 6:30-8 p.m. at the National World War II Museum.

Tickets for the ASRW Industry Awards may be purchased online for $35. This event is open to all ASRW participants, and everyone is encouraged to attend the celebration. Two drink tickets and hors d’oeuvres will also be provided. Attendees can network from 6:30-7 p.m., awards will be presented from 7-8 p.m., and everyone is invited to enjoy the museum at the conclusion of the evening.

The National World War II Museum is located within close proximity to the Morial Convention Center and complimentary transportation will be provided from the museum to the hotels located within the official housing block at the conclusion of the event.

The following organizations will present awards during the evening: ASA, ABRN/Motor Age, Automotive Management Institute (AMI), Bodyshop Business, FenderBender and SkillsUSA.

In addition to awards, AMI will present its graduating class of 2012.

The ASRW Industry Awards is sponsored by ABRN/Motor Age, Bodyshop Business, FenderBender and Autobody News.
