NASTF Seeking Executive Director

NASTF The National Automotive Service Task Force is seeking an independent contractor to lead the organization as executive director.

NASTF is a nonprofit organization. Its mission is to facilitate the identification and correction of gaps in the availability and accessibility of automotive service information, training, diagnostic tools and equipment, and communicate with automotive service professionals.

The executive director will provide the vision, strategic direction and management expertise for the organization. A candidate must be a dynamic, highly motivated individual who can easily cultivate relationships. Previous budgetary and financial oversight experience, strong communication, writing and interpersonal skills are also necessary.

He or she must be able to motivate volunteers to achieve goals and objectives and be skilled in making effective and compelling presentations to large groups. Four ASA Members Win National Awards

Two service advisers and two technicians associated with ASA shops were among nine recipients of Auto Profit Masters’ 2011 RM Toolkit Top Performers Awards. The contestants competed against hundreds of others in shops that use Auto Profit Masters’ RPM Toolkit, an online dashboard that analyzes production, supply chain and repair professionals’ efficiency.

The service advisers are Peter Saitta Jr. of TLC Auto & Truck in Farmingdale, N.Y., and Chris Harris of Harris Garage in Hayes, Va. The two top technicians are Donald Chase of Harris Garage in Hayes, Va., and Ernie Schwartz of Russwood Auto Center, Lincoln, Neb.

Winners received more than $45,000 in prizes from NAPA, Identifix, Bosch, Interstate Batteries, MotorVac and QuickBooks.

Auto Profit Masters is a repair-shop training company founded by the owners of award-winning Keller Bros. Auto in Littleton, Colo.

Criteria and sponsors for the 2012 competition have also been announced.
