Chris Brogan, Noted Social Media Expert,
Selected as Keynote Speaker

Automotive Service and Repair Week - made up of NACE and CARS - in conjunction with DuPont Performance Coatings, has announced that noted author and journalist Chris Brogan will headline the opening General Session at ASRW 2011. The opening General Session will take place Thursday, Oct. 6, from 8:30 a.m.-10 a.m.

Brogan, who is also a marketing consultant and frequent speaker about social media marketing, educates businesses and organizations on how social software aligns with their strategies. He is the president and CEO of Human Business Works, an education and community company. He consults and speaks professionally with Fortune 100 and 500 companies such as PepsiCo, Microsoft and more on the future of business communications and social software technologies.

He is the New York Times bestselling co-author of Trust Agents, and a featured monthly columnist at Entrepreneur Magazine. Brogan's blog, chrisbrogan.com, is in the Top 5 of the Advertising Age Power150. He has more than 11 years of experience in online community, social media and related technologies.

Brogan's keynote presentation will focus on small business solutions, sales, lead generation and specific strategies - all as they relate to the use and implementation of social media.

BASF Shows Commitment to Collision Repair Industry

BASF has committed to a presence on the show floor at the upcoming 2011 event. This year is the first since 2008 for ASRW to include BASF among its list of exhibitors.

Relevant, Timely Topics Planned for 2nd Annual ASRW Industry Forum

The second annual Industry Forum and Reception, scheduled for Wed., Oct. 5, from 4:30 p.m.-7 p.m., at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Fla., will feature two concurrent one-hour sessions: "Service Information - Vital to Keeping Cars in Your Bay" for the mechanical industry and "Trends in Collision Repair: A Futurist Discussion" for collision repair professionals; followed by a 30-minute networking break. The forum will conclude the first day of education at ASRW 2011, featuring the NACE and CARS events taking place Oct. 5-8, 2011.

Two additional concurrent sessions will follow: "The Future of Training Automotive Technicians" for the mechanical industry and "The Changing Climate of Insurance Agreements" for collision repairers. The forum will conclude with an hour-long reception mixer.
