And ABRN, in its inaugural top shops contest, has announced its pick of the nation's top collision repair shops. Noteworthy: Eight of the 10 top shops in the automotive service and repair industry are members of the Automotive Service Association (ASA), and five of ABRN's top 10 collision repair shops are ASA members. ASA member shops ranked in the top 10 by Motor Age include Menke Automotive Repair in Newburgh, Ind.; Certified Automotive Specialists, Glendora, Calif.; Duebber's Automotive Inc., Cincinnati; Downing Street Garage, Denver; Keller Bros. Auto Repair, Littleton, Colo.; Wilhelm Automotive Service Centers, Peoria, Ariz.; Terry Wynter Auto Service Center Inc., Fort Myers, Fla.; and Marathon Automotive, Traverse City, Mich. Menke Automotive Repair was named the top shop for 2009 by Motor Age. And one of the top 10 shops for 2009 - Certified Automotive Specialists of Glendora, Calif. - also made Motor Age's Top 10 list for 2008. The five ASA-member collision repair shops that made ABRN's Top 10 list are Auto Body World in Tolleson, Ariz.; Bonfe's Auto Service, St. Paul, Minn.; Faith Quality Collision in Murietta, Calif.; Old Dominion Collision Repair Center in Eugene Ore.; and Park Place Bodywerks, Dallas. ABRN selected Auto Body World as its top shop. Nagy's Opens 5th Shop in Ohio
Nagy's Collision Specialists recently opened its fifth location, in Holmesville, Ohio. It was the second location the firm opened in 2009. It opened a facility in Wadsworth, Ohio, in May 2009. Nagy's Collision Specialists also has a shop in Doylestown, Ohio, and two shops in Wooster, Ohio. The firm employs 40 professionals who are I-CAR trained and ASE certified. All of its facilities are I-CAR Gold. Nagy's has been a member of ASA since 1982 and adheres to the ASA Code of Ethics. Ron and Dan Nagy are both I-CAR Platinum and ASE Master Collision technicians. Ron Nagy has also earned the Accredited Automotive Manager (AAM) designation from the Automotive Management Institute. Ron Nagy is assistant director of ASA's Collision Division and is chairman of the Division's Crash Parts Subcommittee. He also is a member of ASA's board of directors and serves as secretary/treasurer of the association. Denver Certifies Downing Street Garage

Downing Street Garage in Denver has become the first business of any kind and the first auto repair shop to be certified in that city's new environmental certification program.
The program is called Denver Pollution Prevention Partners. Primary goals of the city and county-sponsored program are to increase participation and adoption of sustainable practices to minimize use of hazardous materials, improve energy efficiency and water conservation, and decrease the use of resources and generation of waste.
Chris Lechman, AAM, is general manager of the shop, which is an ASA member.
The Equipment and Tool Institute (ETI) has a new Web site, www.etools.org.
Completely redesigned, the Web site provides members with the ability to update their own member profiles, contribute to blogs and forums, access ETI event details, key documents, reports and forms. The new Web site also features ETI's TEK-NET Library and ETI's State-by-State I/M Program Web site.
