Thank You for a Great Year

2010 has been a year of continued economic challenge and changes within our businesses and the industry as a whole. The people who serve our great industry are people who turn adversity into opportunity. We have seen this in action this year more than ever. We have all had to abandon our comfort zones and make tough decisions. I believe, as business owners and industry leaders, we have remained together and become stronger, serving our communities with greater excellence.
ASRW, NACE and CARS in October truly demonstrated our industry's winning spirit in action. At the risk of becoming redundant, I never want to become complacent in recognizing and thanking you for your continued support of each other in the industry.
Trade shows in slow economic times don't always fare very well. However, while there was a slight decrease in ASRW numbers, I am happy to say we are still among the top trade shows in the country. While the numbers may be down slightly, the quality of ASRW keeps climbing to greater heights and higher standards. NACE and CARS, under the ASRW umbrella, is a partnership that complements both mechanical and collision segments of the industry. Many of you serve both segments in your businesses. These shows enable us to receive education, training, networking opportunities, products and resources across both segments at one event.
CARS, as part of ASRW, continues to increase its growth and participation from vendors and attendees. The Equipment and Tool Institute (ETI) participated in CARS in October and was very popular. Attendees were intrigued and were able to get information on new technology or address questions about technology already in their shops. The OEM presence was a big attractor among attendees. It's not often that we are able to tap into all the different resources and speak with the leaders of our industry in the timely and efficient manner we are granted on the CARS/NACE Expo floor and in conference sessions. I am confident that as the economy begins to rebound, we will experience new growth at ASRW with the continued presence of our loyal industry supporters and vendors.
We have a lot to be thankful for and a lot to look forward to in the future. May the spirit and joy of the holiday season drive your entire year in every aspect of your life. This Christmas and all year long, remember to give with your heart of your time and resources - not only to those who matter most to you, but also to those who may be struggling. Each day is a gift; greet it with anticipation, make it memorable! May God bless the greatest desires of your heart. Merry Christmas!
