Affiliate Awards Given at ASA Annual Convention
The Affiliate of the Year Award is based on several factors such as membership growth, educational events, participation in ASA national programs, legislative activities and overall contributions of their membership to the automotive industry. The recipient of this year's award was ASA-Ohio.
The Affiliate with the Largest Delegation recognizes the ASA affiliate with the greatest number of members at the annual convention. This year's award was presented to ASA-Georgia.
ASA in the News
The national media continue to contact the Automotive Service Association as a primary resource and voice for the independent automotive service community. This is one more way ASA strives to elevate the public's awareness of ASA and the thousands of members it represents. ASA has been used as a source or quoted in the following consumer publications or media outlets recently:
• The Wall Street Journal (Multiple featured stories)
• Denise Caspersen, collision division manager, recently attended a meeting in Chicago between the Crash Parts Subcommittee - headed by Ron Nagy, secretary/treasurer of ASA and assistant director of the Collision Division - and parts manufacturers from the Taiwan Autobody Parts Association. She also traveled to Madison, Wis., to attend the board meeting of the Collision Industry Electronic Commerce Association (CIECA).
• Bill Haas, vice president of training and education, traveled to Chicago recently to serve as a judge for the Global Automotive Aftermarket Symposium (GAAS) scholarship panel. While at the symposium, Haas spoke on vehicle technology.
