Gearing Up for a New Year!Posted 1/5/2009
Now that we are into the new year, President-elect Obama will lead our nation for the next four years and into an improving economy. The New Year also brings a time for us as members of ASA to vote on our national board of directors. This year we will vote for two positions of general director. Carroll Proctor and Donny Seyfer, AAM, are your candidates for the first general director position. Diane Rodenhouse and T.J. Reilly, AAM, are your candidates for the second general director position. This election is just as important to ASA as the national elections are to each of us. Voting is easy - just call (800) 868-3272 or go to the ASA Web site, www.ASAshop.org, and click on the voting button to cast your vote. Please be sure to vote. Click here for information on each candidate and specific voting instructions. Now is also the time to start making plans to attend ASA's 2009 Annual Convention to be held April 30-May 2 at the Caribe Royale All-Suites Hotel & Convention Center in Orlando, Fla. There will be an open board meeting as well as meetings for the affiliate assembly, affiliate executive directors, mechanical operations committee and collision operations committee. Plus, there will be educational sessions including AMI classes. The annual convention is always a great networking opportunity, and this one will not only help you with your business, but also be a great time to bring staff and family members because it's in a great location - just minutes from the four Walt Disney World Theme Parks and Downtown Disney! This will also be a great time to renew friendships and make new friends. Plan on a few extra days either before or after the meeting and bring the family to enjoy all that Orlando has to offer. You will soon be able to register for the annual convention online, or watch your mail in the coming weeks for a registration form. I know it seems like springtime is far away, but it will be here before you know it. Make your plans now to attend the annual convention. Gathering with peers who truly understand the business you're in is powerful. I've found it to be beneficial - both personally and professionally. My wife, Brenda, and I are looking forward to seeing you in sunny Florida.
