ASA-Colorado Welcomes New Executive Director
The Automotive Service Association of Colorado has a new executive director, Sarah Anderson, who was unanimously voted in by the board Oct. 16, 2007. Anderson joins ASA-Colorado from the Denver Regional Air Quality Council (RAQC) where she worked in the communications department. Her communications experience includes many areas such as planning and executing events and implementing educational programs. Her background in communications has been focused on a large public information campaign that integrated several paid media and public relations components. Her past experience in the private sector managing a large salon and day spa has also prepared her to work with shop owners and managers.
Anderson's goals for ASA-Colorado in the short term include connecting with members and planning events and training opportunities that appeal to members. You may e-mail her at firstname.lastname@example.org or call (303) 202-5231.
Important ASA Membership Information
Every successful business monitors its operating expenses and cost of doing business. The Automotive Service Association (ASA) is no different in that regard; therefore, it is announcing a dues increase beginning January 2008.
This increase will allow ASA to expand its presence as the association works to fulfill its mission of advancing professionalism and excellence in the automotive repair industry through education, representation and member services.
To assist members in spreading the cost of membership over the entire year, rather than it all being due at one time, ASA offers a continuous membership payment option. Members may elect to pay membership dues by credit card in annual, quarterly or semi-annual payments. This payment option is convenient because once a member signs up for the program, he or she will not have to remember to write a check for ASA dues. A member's credit card statement will be receipt of payment.
To take advantage of ASA's Continuous Membership payment option, please contact the ASA membership department at (800) 272-7467, ext. 295, or the accounting department, ext. 220.
Reminder of the Month
ASA's board of director elections will be held Jan. 2-Feb. 29, 2008. The official notification of ASA members seeking board positions begins on page 30.
All regular members in good standing with ASA are eligible to cast their vote for the position of ASA general director. The position of Collision Division director and the position of Mechanical Division director are elected by their respective divisions only. Members were assigned to the appropriate divisions based on information provided by the member when they joined the association.
The voting process is conducted electronically using a toll-free telephone number or by logging onto a secured Web site. To cast your vote, please call (800) VOTE-ASA or point your Web browser to www.vres.us/asa.html.
On either format, ASA regular members will vote by entering their member number plus a three-digit security code number. These numbers can be found on the mailing labels of this issue and the December 2007 issue of AutoInc. The member number and security code are directly above the addressee's full name and enclosed by parentheses ( ). Example: (123456 789).
For more information on the voting process, please contact ASA at (800) 272-7467, ext. 213.
