ASA-Colorado Welcomes New Executive Director

The Automotive Service Association of Colorado has a new executive director, Sarah Anderson, who was unanimously voted in by the board Oct. 16, 2007. Anderson joins ASA-Colorado from the Denver Regional Air Quality Council (RAQC) where she worked in the communications department. Her communications experience includes many areas such as planning and executing events and implementing educational programs. Her background in communications has been focused on a large public information campaign that integrated several paid media and public relations components. Her past experience in the private sector managing a large salon and day spa has also prepared her to work with shop owners and managers.

Anderson's goals for ASA-Colorado in the short term include connecting with members and planning events and training opportunities that appeal to members. You may e-mail her at sarah@asacolorado.org or call (303) 202-5231.

Important ASA Membership Information

Every successful business monitors its operating expenses and cost of doing business. The Automotive Service Association (ASA) is no different in that regard; therefore, it is announcing a dues increase beginning January 2008.

This increase will allow ASA to expand its presence as the association works to fulfill its mission of advancing professionalism and excellence in the automotive repair industry through education, representation and member services.

Act Now!

To assist members in spreading the cost of membership over the entire year, rather than it all being due at one time, ASA offers a continuous membership payment option. Members may elect to pay membership dues by credit card in annual, quarterly or semi-annual payments. This payment option is convenient because once a member signs up for the program, he or she will not have to remember to write a check for ASA dues. A member's credit card statement will be receipt of payment.

To take advantage of ASA's Continuous Membership payment option, please contact the ASA membership department at (800) 272-7467, ext. 295, or the accounting department, ext. 220.

NATIONAL NEWS

  • Denise Caspersen, manager of ASA's Collision Division, attended - by invitation from ASA member Bill Burnside - the Automobile Collision Task Force meeting Oct. 18, 2007. Burnside is also a member of the task force, which was created by the Louisiana Department of Insurance.

During the meeting, the task force discussed the 1963 consent decree and the state attorney general's opinion 01-77 on trade regulations-antitrust. Members of the task force also discussed what complaints should be submitted to the Louisiana Department of Insurance, along with how to effectively submit a complaint.
