NATIONAL NEWS

  • ASA welcomes Angie Kilbourne as manager of Web Operations for ASA. The former managing editor of Motor Age magazine, she has been working in the publishing industry since 1983.

Her current responsibilities include design and content management of the family of ASA Web sites, including ASAshop.org, AutoInc., TakingTheHill.com, amionline.org and carsonline.org; management of the association's Web design and hosting member benefits; writing, editing and design of ASA's NACE and CARS online show daily publications; and a monthly column and occasional features for ASA's AutoInc. magazine. She can be reached at angiek@ASAshop.org or (800) 272-7467, ext. 234.

  • The ASA national office recently had a new air conditioning unit installed. The old unit quit after 20 years of performance. The new unit weighs more than 4.5 tons. It took a crane to lift and install it on top of the building. During the week of installation, ASA staffers adjusted their work schedules to come in at 7 a.m. to try and beat the harshness of the Texas summer heat. After a sweaty week like that, it's hard to imagine how we ever lived without air conditioning in the first place.
