ASE Opens Registration for Summer, Fall Tests
There's still time to register for the summer National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) computer-based tests (CBT). Registration will be open July 10 through Aug. 15.
You can register for the ASE CBT tests by calling (800) 525-6929 between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. (Central Time) Monday through Friday, or between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. Saturday. Testing will be conducted between July 17 and Aug. 22.
The ASE CBT tests are delivered at secure, proctored computer-based testing centers throughout the United States to ensure reliability of the tests. They are not available over the Internet.
In case the ASE CBT format doesn't meet your needs, online registration for the November ASE paper-and-pencil testing is also now open. The deadline to register is Sept. 30. Candidates can register for the fall paper-and-pencil testing online at www.ase.com.
I-CAR Offers Online Training Records Access
I-CAR now offers collision industry professionals access to their training records 24/7 through the myl-CAR function on the I-CAR Web site. Through myl-CAR, you can view training history, print a current transcript and view/change personal contact information on file with I-CAR.

Linder Schedules 'Networking' Conference
Linder Technical Services has scheduled its ninth annual "networking" conference for Sept. 8-10 in Indianapolis. The deadline for registering for the conference is Aug. 15.
More than 300 technicians and shop owners from across the United States and Canada are expected to attend the event, which will include approximately 15 hours of technical training classes plus a management seminar and a trade show.
Attendees will not only gain information from the class sessions, they will have plenty of opportunity to sit down and "network" with other technicians.

CCC to Acquire ProcessClaims Inc.
CCC Information Services Inc., a supplier of technology solutions to the automotive claims and collision repair industries, has signed a definitive agreement to acquire Process Claims Inc., a provider of process-focused software solutions for the automotive claims industry.
Githesh Ramamurthy, CCC's chairman and chief executive officer, said: "This will enable us to bring more wide-ranging and flexible workflow options to the industry. The combination brings together the two most comprehensive networks connecting insurers with collision repair facilities, independent appraisers and other supply chain partners. In addition, this acquisition further enhances CCC's industry-leading claims data warehouse."
Mitchell 1's OnDemand System Adds New Data
Mitchell 1 has announced that it has increased the data in its OnDemand Repair Information System by 30 percent in the second quarter of 2006, for a total of 22 gigabytes of information that has been added to the system in the past three quarters. The new data has more than doubled the size of the 17-year-old product over the past three quarters.
In addition, 900,000 graphics have been added to the OnDemand Repair Information System in the past year.
As a special benefit to its Web-based OnDemand5.com customers, these content increases are available on an expedited monthly basis that requires no customer action.
