ASA-Arizona Named Affiliate of the Year
Guidelines for the selection process were sent to each affiliate last year and are designed to take into account the size of each affiliate to ensure everyone has a fair chance at winning the award.
CARQUEST Names Rick Allen 2005 Excellence Award Winner
"It is a privilege to win the CARQUEST excellence award and an honor to be the first to win it while also being a past technician of the year recipient," said Allen, who in 2003 won the TECH-NET Professional Auto Service/ASE Technician of the Year award from CARQUEST.
The CARQUEST Excellence Award seeks to recognize the independent automobile service business that, through the course of everyday service excellence, exemplifies the professionalism necessary to build public understanding and respect for people working in the auto service industry today.
The 2006 ASA Annual Business Meeting will be held April 26-29, 2006, at the Driskill Hotel, Austin, Texas. For more information, please contact Carol Dennis at (800) 272-7467, ext. 220 or email@example.com. This year's meeting will include the national board meeting, an Automotive Management Institute (AMI) seminar, the state-of-the-association address and the swearing-in ceremony of the ASA board of directors.
Reminder of the Month
As an ASA member, you have the right to elect members to the national board of directors. ASA's board elections will be held Jan. 2 to Feb. 28, 2006. All regular members in good standing with ASA are eligible to cast their vote for the position of ASA general director.
The positions of collision and mechanical division directors are elected by their respective divisions only. Members were assigned to the appropriate divisions based on information provided by the member when they joined the association.
The voting process will guide each member through the necessary steps to vote for general director and the appropriate division director. When voting opens, the entire process will be conducted electronically using a toll-free telephone number or by logging onto a secured Web site.
Once members have phoned in or entered the Web site, they will vote by entering their member number plus a three-digit security code number and following the prompts.
These numbers can be found on the mailing labels of this issue and January and February 2006 issues of AutoInc. The member number and security code are directly above the addressees' full name and enclosed by parentheses ( ). Example: (123456 789).
